A new collection of dresses has launched and I am a big fan. These are not traditional princess style wedding dresses. These are unique, original, gorgeous styles for Brides who know who they are and how they want to feel on their wedding day....gorgeous. Perfect for smaller, more intimate weddings and very special venues. Can't wait to see one of my bride's in a BHLDN design. Don't miss the accessories, they're stunning and brilliant.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS:
An understated word with significant meaning charmed us. And so began, BHLDN.
Inspired by the Dutch word for “to keep,” as well as countless tales from family and friends of the extraordinary weddings they’d been part of, we began dreaming up something new.
Our roots are with Anthropologie, so a passion for experience and creating one-of-a-kind moments runs deep. But our offering speaks more to the not-so-everyday occasions—ours is a voice that celebrates a woman’s most anticipated milestones. And one that gives tradition a twist.
We want, more than anything, to help a woman create an event that reflects her own unique perspective… to a tee. We want to give a bride that edit she’s been searching for—with heirloom-quality wedding gowns, artisanal hair adornments, footwear, and lingerie. And we want happy bridesmaids—in mix-and-match frocks with rich hues and unexpected details.
But it goes beyond the dress. Our goal, and the reason we drape, fold, bustle, and stitch, is to start a conversation with our customer—to build a resource where she can come to find inspiration and to share with those closest to her, as well as our broader coterie. BHLDN’s story is unfolding; and we’ll look to our customer for cues and guidance going forward.
There are no check boxes. No fill-in-the-blanks. On the contrary, we think a moment should be as layered and dimensional as the woman standing within it.
Be you. Be loved. BHLDN

Lemon Sunshine Dessert Bar
Lemons are abundant in our desert world this month. Actually they are dropping off the trees, while still .50 cents each in my local grocery store??? Anyway, these lovely Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins, along with some fresh Blueberry Muffins were perfect for the Lady's Luncheon order being delivered this morning. It's been raining for 2 days, but somehow these make me feel like it's warm & sunny.

Please Take a Seat
I like mixing it up. Literally, I get bored with the same layouts over and over again. Round tables, rectangular tables, square tables...I realize this is what we have to work with, but I love a combination that catches me off guard when I walk into a room. Unexpected, creative, a little askew, this is exciting to me. A few examples:
Love seats at each table make this room comfy and elegant. The red drum shades are so gorgeous and make the space feel more intimate.
Long tables invite family style dining, and if formal enough, can make guests feel like royalty, dining in an elegant castle.
Different heights change up a space and create an unexpected experience.

And then there is the spectacular and daring linen presentation. Combined with creative seating (ottomans), this may be the most exciting, if your budget allows, maybe for a smaller, more intimate shower or engagement or rehearsal party.

Floral Designs that WOW-Flowers by Bornay
I am truly smitten with Flowers By Bornay. This is the first really different floral design work I have seen in a while. I am so impressed that I sent an email to them in Barcelona asking to use some of their images and Joan kindly replied this morning, Thank you for allowing me to share your wonderful work with bride's here in Arizona.
This bouquet is so decadent, it should be illegal.
The color combinations and use of texture make their arrangements so interesting.
Floral Carpets
Natural pods are such a contrast to the delicate beauty of the flowers, ying and yang. Love it.
Soft, muted, GORGEOUS colors
I will definitely be watching Borany's blog for new designs, and until I can ship myself to Barcelona, I will be trying to master their technique right here in Phoenix. Love, love, love the inspiration.

Southern Sweets Divine Dessert Table
Phoenix Arizona is my home, but I am a Southern girl at heart. Born and raised in the South, my roots take me back to my grandmother's kitchen and her sewing room. This dessert table is the realization of my heritage, right down to the tastes. Gracious, glamorous, delicious, and abundant....the epitome of Southern Hospitality. The masculine pinstripe combined with the feminine flowing pale pink skirt merge bride and groom..
Chocolate and Vanilla Buttermilk Cupcakes with cream cheese frosting were baked in natural parchment paper. The lace trim at the table was custom dyed to match the pinstripe gray backdrop fabric. The skirt on the table is blush pink chiffon with a pink satin underlay, custom made by Angela Saban Design, I wanted to create the feeling of the skirt of a dress, flowing and beautiful. Sparkling Pink Lemonade in champagne flutes.
Buttemilk Blanc Mange by Angela Saban Design with fresh peaches slices and blueberries in shot glasses.
Bourbon Pecan Tarts by Divalicious Catering's Veronica Arroyo.
Divalicious Catering's Veronica Arroyo
Blackberry Tarts, my personal favorite, by Divalicious Catering. I spent many hours as a child picking these from bushes and suffering the "chiggers" for their deliciousness!
Red Velvet Cake with buttercream Frosting created by Veronica Arroyo and covered with fresh flowers from Cactus Flowers. My grandmother's antique silver cake pedestal, no one knows how many weddings it has been to.
